Since Donald Trump began his second term in 2025, several actions by his administration have raised ethical and legal concerns. While many appear political or symbolic, they carry real consequences for everyday Americans, from financial risks to weakened public institutions.
One major controversy was Trump’s consideration of a luxury jet gift from Qatar to use as Air Force One. Though symbolic, such a gift from a foreign government raises concerns over national security, foreign influence, and potential misuse of taxpayer funds for maintenance or security.
The mass firing of 17 inspectors general also affects the public. These officials are responsible for uncovering government fraud and waste. Their removal weakens oversight and transparency, making it easier for corruption to go unchecked and public money to be misused.
Trump’s promotion of a branded cryptocurrency, $TRUMP, is another concern. It has drawn in investors with promises of access to the president, while weakening financial watchdogs like the SEC. This exposes average people to scams and risky investments without adequate protection.
In addition, Trump’s pardon of over 1,500 January 6 participants, along with his appointment of political loyalists to key legal positions, undermines trust in the rule of law. For citizens, this raises fears that justice may be applied unfairly, favoring allies over the public good.
The administration has also gutted several regulatory bodies, including labor and civil rights agencies. This affects protections in the workplace, limits recourse for discrimination, and weakens national security by replacing experienced staff with political loyalists.
In short, these scandals are not just political drama—they impact citizens directly. From weaker legal protections to increased financial risk, the Trump administration’s actions have created an environment where public interests are often secondary to political loyalty and personal gain.
I am calling for the impeachment of Donald Trump, as are millions of other Amaericans.
