This will seem a little more light hearted than past letters to you, but I am writing it only because I know that business is more influential on national politics and government than it rightly should be, especially since we are seeing some awful results from the Citizens United ruling. What I want to say today is that our nation is getting ready for something that would under almost any circumstances except the current situation be a major celebration. Can you imagine a 250 year anniversary of our country where nobody really feels like celebrating? I see ads for Philadelphia’s events this year, and I suspect it would break their hearts to have to try to make the best of it in the current shambles. Trump is ruining the chances for a good celebration. But if he and his ruinous horde stepped down or you got them out… what a genuine, deserved celebration you would see. And we would be celebrating your honor as well for making it happen in honor of your Federal oaths.
