Our nation's education system plays a vital role in shaping the future of our children and society. As a former teacher, I firmly believe we need the Department of Education to ensure equitable access to quality education for all students. The Department oversees numerous programs and initiatives aimed at improving educational opportunities, promoting academic excellence, and supporting teachers and schools across the country. Terminating its existence would undermine these efforts and negatively impact the educational landscape. I urge you to reconsider this proposal and instead work towards strengthening and improving the Department to better serve our students and educators. A strong, well-funded Department of Education is crucial for building a skilled workforce and empowering the next generation of leaders.
