Defend Voting Rights Against Federal Overreach

To: Sen. Cantwell, Rep. Duerr, Sen. Murray, Pres. Trump, Rep. DelBene, Gov. Ferguson, Rep. Kloba, Sen. Stanford

From: A verified voter in Bothell, WA

July 24

You need to stand up and publicly oppose the Trump administration's assault on state election authority. The DOJ is demanding unredacted voter rolls from 30 states, the FBI seized hundreds of boxes of 2020 ballots from Fulton County, and DHS is threatening to strip federal funding from states that don't comply with new election rules. Courts have already rejected these voter roll demands in 15 of 30 cases, with one judge calling the Fulton County subpoena an "arbitrary fishing expedition." This isn't election integrity — it's federal intimidation. Jonathan Diaz of the Campaign Legal Center calls this the most hostile administration toward voting rights in living memory. Larry Noble, former FEC general counsel, says Trump is suppressing Democratic votes and pre-positioning fraud claims for November. Even Republican officials like Utah Lt. Governor Deidre Henderson have condemned the DOJ's threatening letters. Speak out, introduce legislation to protect state election authority, and block any effort to pass the Save America Act, which would gut mail voting that one in four Democrats and one in five Republicans rely on.
