President Elect Trump repeated his intent for the United States of America to leave NATO. To leave would encourage our adversaries including Putin to continue their acts of aggression against their neighbors and NATO allies. I urge you to take action now and pass legislation that would ensure the United States' commitment to being a key member of NATO. Please make a lasting and positive impression by showing our NATO allies that the United States will back them regardless who is the President of the United States. It's important that this legislation is enacted before Trump takes office. I envision the United States continuing to show leadership by taking stand against bullies of the world including Putin of Russia.
