Urgent action needed: Protect Palestinian civilians in Gaza conflict

To: Rep. Schakowsky, Pres. Biden, Sen. Duckworth, Sen. Durbin

August 28

The ongoing genocide against Palestinians by the Israeli government has escalated to an alarming level, resulting in numerous civilian casualties. The latest strike by Israeli forces on a school sheltering displaced civilians in eastern Deir el-Balah has claimed eight innocent Palestinian lives. This tragic incident underscores the urgent need to cease all funding and aid to Israel and condemn the Israeli government, holding them accountable for their ongoing genocidal actions against Palestinians. It is imperative that the international community exerts pressure on Israel to cease their brutal assault on Palestinian civilian populations, particularly those seeking refuge in designated shelters. Targeting such facilities is a gross violation of international humanitarian law and must be condemned in the strongest terms. The senseless cycle of violence has already taken a heavy toll on Palestinians, and it is evident that enabling Israel's military aggression will only perpetuate this injustice. What is required is an immediate cessation of all support for Israel's genocidal regime and decisive action to protect the Palestinian people from further atrocities.
