Investigate potential breach of taxpayer privacy and systems

To: Sen. Gillibrand, Sen. Schumer, Pres. Trump, Rep. Ryan

From: A constituent in New Paltz, NY

February 24

Congress must take urgent action to investigate potential misuse of confidential taxpayer information and access to critical government systems by unqualified private entities. Recent reports raise alarming concerns that the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) and associated individuals may have improperly accessed Treasury payment systems and tax return data. This represents a severe breach of public trust and privacyprotections. Taxpayers deserve full transparency regarding any exploitation of their personal information or government infrastructure meant to serve the public good. Upholding the integrity of the Treasury's operations and safeguarding citizen privacy should be of paramount importance. I urge you to act swiftly in demanding the release of all relevant documents and communications from the administration related to this matter. The American people have a right to know if their most sensitive personal data has been mishandled or systems compromised for private interests. Thorough oversight is critical to holding any wrongdoers accountable and restoring faith in our public institutions. Please make every effort to get to the bottom of this deeply troubling situation through a comprehensive investigation.
