This morning our time, the Israeli military attacked the Al Mawasi refugee camp. A woman and her young daughter were killed. Many others in the area were made to witness the horror of the explosion, the burning tent, the screaming, the smell of people and meagre property burning. Among them was a farmer named Mohamed.
Mohammed's family has had a long tradition of farming and livestock husbandry. They fled Bel Sab'a, which was later named Beersheba, during the Nakba and fled to Rafah as refugees. There, they set up farm again and for three generations raised crops and livestock. During this most recent bombardment of Gaza, they fled to Al Mawasi. Now, he is trying to save seeds and feed his extended family.
I don't want Mohamed or his family to die. Call off the IDF.
