I am a concerned citizen in Chittenden County. I am very worried about the implications of Project 2025. Specifically, I am focused on the upcoming report about the use of the Insurrection Act, set to be released on April 20th. This should be on the mind of every representative. It has the potential to lead to long-lasting effects which will change our democracy as we know it. If the report recommends invoking the Insurrection Act, which seems likely given who the main advisors are, Trump will invoke martial law. From there, it is a hop, skip, and jump to using military force against Americans, removing the ability to hold fair elections, and so much more. This may sound like a conspiracy theory. But I would rather communicate these concerns now, while I can, than wait until it's much too late to take any action. Please communicate this to your fellow representatives from other states as well. There are less than two weeks until this report comes out. The time to collaborate and discuss is now. If this has to be a partisan issue, so be it, but it shouldn't be. Please take action before it's too late.
