A United States citizen, Carsie Blanton, has been illegally detained on the high seas by the state of Israel. She, and the other US citizens being illegally detained, have committed no crime and done no violence. Their only purpose was to deliver humanitarian aid—food, medicine, baby formula, and other necessities—to the starving people of Gaza. Israel has been allowed to get away with some of the worst atrocities in human history, including the forced starvation of women and children, and the murder of noncombatants as they seek promised food and other aid. We look to you, our elected representatives, to stand up for justice both at home and abroad. I call on you to publicly denounce the illegal detention of Carsie Blanton and the other US citizens currently held by the state of Israel, and to urge our State Department to take action to protect US citizens from political violence perpetrated by foreign governments. Thank you.
