The pursuit of higher education and academic excellence should be supported, not hindered. Universities that achieve global recognition and prestige through rigorous scholarship and groundbreaking research are invaluable national assets. Attempts to interfere with or undermine the autonomy and integrity of world-leading institutions of learning are detrimental to the advancement of knowledge and human progress. Interfering with universities will not make America great again. We must safeguard the independence of our top universities to maintain their preeminence on the global stage and preserve their ability to foster intellectual growth and innovation for the benefit of society.
