We do not consent to the extremism of the Executive Branch

To: Sen. Schumer, Pres. Trump, Sen. Gillibrand, Rep. Velázquez

From: A verified voter in Brooklyn, NY

February 5

The result of this past election was not a Republican mandate. We do not consent to the radical, extremist executive orders that have been issued; the takeover of the Treasury by someone we the people did not elect; the gutting of a critical agency such as USAID; nor the stunning language and intention to take over the Gaza Strip, a sovereign region. The dream of America and Americans is still a fragile one and we all own it. Even the migrants that you President Trump, callously characterize as criminals. You’ve been honored twice now with the job of bringing us all closer to that dream. Regardless of what people say today, history will remember what you do now with a critical and unflinching eye. You have the opportunity to be great. But instead right now, what we all see is looming devastation. Please serve all your constituents and not just the ones that wear your red hat.
