I am writing to you as a concerned citizen who values democracy, justice, and the rule of law. It is with urgency that I ask Congress to take immediate action to impeach and bar President Donald J. Trump from holding public office. His actions—both past and present—constitute crimes against humanity, blatant misuse of office for personal gain, and ongoing threats to the integrity of our democratic institutions. During his presidency, Trump engaged in numerous violations of ethical and legal standards, from leveraging his position to enrich himself and his associates to undermining democratic norms and inciting violence. His role in the January 6th insurrection was a direct attack on our democratic process, yet he continues to align himself with far-right extremists, dangerous political operatives, and oligarchs who threaten U.S. national security. As a convicted felon, Trump has demonstrated a complete disregard for the rule of law. His efforts to subvert justice, spread disinformation, and embolden extremist movements make him unfit for any leadership role. Allowing him to remain in office poses a dire risk to the USA and its standing as a nation governed by democracy. Congress has a duty to protect the nation from those who would use political power for personal gain at the expense of the American people. I implore you to take action and support impeachment proceedings to ensure that Trump is held accountable for his actions and is permanently disqualified from running for public office again. The future of our democracy depends on leaders like you standing up against corruption, authoritarianism, and lawlessness.
