American soldiers and sailors should not be used as kidnappers, pirates, and terrorists. Sadly, these words are the most accurate description of our military’s actions against the people of Venezuela. We must insist on the immediate return of Venezuela’s president and we must stop the unprovoked and illegal violence that is being inflicted on them in our name. Ordering American military forces to engage in such hideous acts is a gross violation of presidential power and one of the most disgusting uses of American might witnessed in my lifetime.
